Lotus Notes Email Server Interruptions

Over the last two days, IT Services has experienced several crashes to the faculty/staff email servers ZEUS and VENUS. There has also been a small number of messages which were delayed yesterday, but these have all been sent out. It has been determined (with the help from IBM Tech Support) that these crashes have been caused by copies of different spam messages sent from outside the campus, and many Notes servers throughout the world have experienced this same issue. IBM has now sent us a hotfix which we will install on the servers this morning, causing one more short outage. We ask that anyone with questions please contact the HelpDesk (helpdesk@uwindsor.ca).
